Hi, it's me, I'm back. The central scruuuuuuuuuuuutiiiiniiiizer (um, sorry, Zappa reference).
Yes, I am alive, still out here riding bikes and making music and trying to survive in an ever more difficult world to survive in.
About all I really have to report that's exciting is another gig at Connie's Space Lounge for convergence this year but details are forthcoming.

Kind of a twisting and turning circuitous route with Elkman (fresh after his stent installation) and it seemed to go well if windy and towards the end, very windy (it was catching the blades of my carbon seatpost and fork, my bike felt like a kite during gusts).
I personally was suffering a bit as I'd already done a one hour and twenty minute hard spin class that morning so by the time the last 8 miles of this ride happened when I was leaning into the wind I was ready for a rest myself.
This was my first ride with the new LG Chocolate 3 phone and GPS performance was really excellent with this phone, GPS acquisition was much faster than my old RAZR (that phone would sit on sunny days fishing around for satellites for minutes at a time) and the more frequent data-point-acquisition along with being able to track GPS functions during phone calls, music playback and even if the phone is out of cell coverage is a huge, huge plus.
From the reviews on the net I hear the longer life battery will probably be a must - I did get that for the RAZR 3m but I'll burn that bridge for the Chocolate 3 when I cross it..

Well, the latest news given that the last 2500 entries have been GPS related (gads)...
Got a couple more gigs in of sorts, after July's bit at Connie's Space Lounge I ended up playing an interesting deal at the Eye of Horus for a jewelry trunk show along with opalsprite and toomuchvoltage..
Last weekend my wife and I performed a swedish folk song, "Tryggare Kan Ingen Vara" for my adopted grandmothers memorial service. I got to see some relatives I've not seen in a while and that was nice.
The main course of action now of course is to follow elkman's health progress. More on that in his own blog.

I wanted to get some riding in so I did with the recumbent. Biggest problem was the city adding chip-n-seal to the roads near where I live nearly causing me to dump the bike but luckily I had my headlight on at the time so I was able to notice this. I hate chip and seal. It's just a way for cities to pave roads on the cheap. It was a beautiful night for a ride though.

And now to interrupt my usual athletic blog endeavors with some music news:
Just wanted to mention that as a result of my participation in the recent Guitar Oblique compilation project I've got two tracks on Apple Computers' iTunes store.
Both are more "avante-garde" than my usual efforts owing to the fact that the "GtrOblq" collective has that bent.
The tracks are "Reversi" (a modified arrangement of the track "Symmetry") where I played all of the instruments and the track "Bimbo Spam", a new collaboration with Sonic Deviant (Shane Hendricks of Texas) with me playing six string bass and electric guitar and Shane playing electric guitar and he also performed the drum track using samples courtesy of Infinite Ego.
Go to the iTunes store and search for "The Unraveling Begins" or go to my regular webpage http://pod.ath.cx/ and click the link to buy the CD via CD Baby or go to iTunes and get it that way.
It's 14 of the most unusual musicians you'll hear that are still good so check us out.
